Sheboygan Fire Fire Supports SCCCF and the Local Cancer Community!

I was recently contacted by Steven Boyle of the Sheboygan Fire Department, informing me that they had a donation check for the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund!
I had a chance to talk to Steven when we picked up the check and he explained, "Several members of our Sheboygan Fire Department Charitable Trust, which consists of our firefighters along with our office and administrative staff, decided to create T-shirts and sell them during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) and select a local organization to donate the proceeds to. We selected the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund. T-shirts were sold primarily through word of mouth and online through social media and we even made them available at our downtown station where people could just come in and by them. I’m not sure exactly how many T-shirts we sold, but it was a good amount, and we raised $1,097.45 that we are donating to the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund!"

As we chatted a bit, I shared the story of how, during one of the first years of the ST&BF Indoor Row Group, when all of our training was taking place at the Sheboygan YMCA, there was one occasion when a firefighter, if full firefighting/oxegen gear (about 40 lbs, from what I understand... not to mention a heavy coat, boots, and helmet) spent time on the stairclimbing machines as we rowed! WOW!
