SCCCF has been offering the ST&BF “Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors” class for over ten years! Although we aren’t able to offer this class as regularly as we have in the past (due to COVID-19), we are doing “the best we can” by offering both VIRTUAL yoga classes as well as OUTDOOR “POP UP” sessions at various locations throughout the community. These outdoor sessions allow participants to safely distance themselves as one of our instructors leads the group through an amplified sound system. Our next session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd at 530P ad Deland Park. Watch this Local Cancer Community Update for dates, times and location or contact Tim to be added to the OUTDOOR “POP UP” Yoga e-mail list.
Stacy Harriott, CYT leads an OUTDOOR “POP UP” Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors class on Wednesday, August 26th at Taylor Park that included plenty of shade and a gentle breeze!
I recently asked Stacy Harriott, CYT who (along with Katie Boge, CYT, Kaitlynn Kiela, CYT and Stacey Hand, CYT) facilitates our “Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors” classes if she would share a bit of a testimonial of her experiences with the practice of yoga and its many benefits. Stacy is one of two of our yoga instructors whose story also includes a cancer diagnosis. I hope you enjoy reading Stacy’s story!
