ST&BF Indoor Row Group Finishes the 2021/22 Season with a Team Record in the World Erg Challenge!

(April 28, 2022)

The Indoor Row Group participates has been participating in four team challenges each season, which runs from November 1st through April 30th. In addition to Concept2’s three “Team Challenges” (Fall Team Challenge, Virtual Team Challenge, and World Erg Challenge) in which results are based on total meters rowed by all team members during a one-month period, our signature event has been the Annual Lake Michigan Crossing which is a one-day relay-type event covering a distance equal to crossing Lake Michigan and held at the Sheboygan YMCA’s Lakeview Center (excpet during the 2020/21 season when it took place virtually due to the pandemic).

We were having a stellar 2019/20 season (setting Team Records in the Fall Team Challenge, the Virtual Team Challenge, and 5th Annual Lake Michigan Crossing before the pandemic prevented us from participating in the World Erg Challenge.

Unable to row together as a group during the entire 2020/21 season, rowing sessions were held virtually (via Zoom) as we rotated available ergs between team members.

The current 2021/22 season (which ends on Saturday) has consisted of both in-person and virtual rowing opportunities. This season included a second-best performances in the 2021 Fall Challenge and a second-best time ever at the 7th Annual Lake Michigan Crossing while setting Team Records in the Virtual Team Challenge and closing out the season with another Team Record in the World Erg Challenge that finished earlier this month!
