We will enjoy our last visit of 2021 simply "Wandering the Wonderful Gardens" (1P to 5P), with an opportunity for "Qigong for Cancer Survivors" (1:30P to 1:50P at the Labyrinth), and a "Bonding Bonfire" (2P to 5P in the Railyard Gardens) along with some Hot Cocoa, Holiday Cookies and Christmas Carols!

Join us for a casual gathering to include an opportunity to "Wander the Wonderful Gardens" (3P to 7P), "Qigong for Cancer Survivors (4P to 4:20P at the Labyrinth), and a "Bonding Bonfire" (5P to 7P at the Railyard Gardens) that will include Hot Dogs and S'mores and more!

Many of us have enjoyed a wide variety of fun activities at the Christopher Farm & Gardens! After all, why should kids have all the fun? But maybe its time for us to let the kids (and grandkids) in on some of the fun we’ve been having? So, to commemorate “Grandparents Day” on September 12^th, we are inviting all survivors along with their kids and grandkids to join us for a GRAND DAY of Family Fun at the Christopher Farm & Gardens!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens: Kayaking Along the Lake Michigan Shoreline and a Beach Bonfire!

This visit included the favorite and traditional opportunity to "Wander the Wonderful Gardens" along with a more adventurous opportunity to "Kayak Along the Lake Michigan Shoreline" and a unique and relaxing "Beach Bonfire" featuring a Swedish Fire Log!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens: Ye Olde Tennis Court Garden Visit!

Plans for "Kayaking Along the Lake Michigan Shoreline" and a "Beach Bonfire" were hampered by rough conditions on the lake... so we were invited to visit and enjoy the newest addition - the Ye Olde Tennis Court Gardens, which features a raised cornhole (bean bag toss) court as  well as an evening bonfire in the Railyard Gardens fire pit!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens: Peak Peonies Visit!

We enjoyed a second visit to the CF&G for a chance to see the Peonies in full bloom and another opportunity to "Wander the Wonderful Gardens"! Also included was a Casual QiGong for Cancer Survivors "Five Treasures" practice on the Labyrinth and an evening bonfire at the fire ring in the Railroad Garden!

"Bob the Builder" Hartig, retired teacher and cancer survivor, has a passion for teaching and a passion for woodworking that he has combined to demonstrate to other cancer patients and survivors fun and unique ways in which "Survivorship Can Be Fun!"

We enjoyed yet another lovely visit to the Christopher Farm & Gardens! I won’t waste too much time trying to find the words to describe this most recent visit... but will share a few photos (as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words) and encourage you to join us next time so you can experience it for yourself!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens (April - Earth Day Habitat Restoration)!

About twenty cancer patients/survivors and co-survivors commemorated this year’s “Earth Day” on Thursday, April 22^nd by helping out with some habitat restoration at the Christopher Farm & Gardens!

We all enjoyed another beautiful day! But as Erika and Rob prepared the area for the work on Wednesday... they had to endure some of Wisconsin's whimsical weather that included cold, wind and several snowbursts!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens (March - The Jay W. Christopher Transportation Museum & Nature Center)

On this visit to the Christopher Farm & Gardens we enjoyed a unique opportunity to tour the Jay W. Christopher Transportation Museum that housed a variety of collections including one of the finest railroad china collections in the world!

ST&BF at the Christopher Farm & Gardens (February - "Snow Moon") - Survivors on Snowshoes!!

Shortly after our "Survivors on Snowshoes" outing at the CF&G in early February, Erika pointed out that the "Snow Moon" would appear in late February. So we scheduled a "POP UP" Survivors on Snowshoes for Thursday, February 25th!

More than twenty cancer patients, survivors and co-survivors joined us on a beautiful sunny and windless day for another "Survivors on Snowshoes" outing at the Christopher Farm & Gardens!

About twenty cancer patients/survivors and co-survivors also enjoyed a second visit to the CF&G for an evening "Snow Moon" hike/snowshoe!

More than 30 cancer patients, survivors and co-survivors enjoyed the peace and quiet of the CF&G during an afternoon visit to this special place!

Traditionally, this time of year, many of us will gather during for our traditional TLC Survivorship Session's annual one-night "Gratitude Retreat!" This year we will be doing a much simpler virtual (via Zoom) version of that on Monday, November 16th at 9A and Tuesday, November 24th at 630P. Whether you are/were able to join us for either of those sessions... I invite you to share one thing that you find yourself feeling grateful for! Take a photo of that one thing or something that represents it and download it here along with a few grateful comments!!!

2020 ST&BF Survivorship Through the Lens People's Choice Photo Contest!

Bring your camera and capture the beauty of the Christopher Farm & Gardens! Submit one or two of your original photos (per session) to the 2020 ST&BF Survivorship Through the Lens People's Choice Photo Contest themed, Beauty from the Eye of This Beholder! After June 24th you will be able to download a ballot and voting will take place.

Surviving, Thriving & Staying Fit Amidst COVID-19!

These shared photos (selfies or point-of-view photos) were taken and submitted between March 24th and June 5th, 2020 and illustrate ways in which area cancer patients and survivors remained active during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic (while, of course, following all healthy guidelines including Wisconsin's "Safer at Home" order, social distancing, respiratory etiquette and other applicable healthy practices and guidelines)!
